What is a Preliminary Offer (PO) ?
A Preliminary Offer is a step towards an offer of admission. It indicates that an applicant must meet important requirements before receiving official admission to ALU.
Who receives a Preliminary Offer?
This applies to all applicants whose final/ national examination results are not issued by Rwanda's National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), e.g., those who sat for Cambridge Exams instead of Rwandan A-levels.
How do I clear a Preliminary Offer?
Applicants will need to submit an Equivalence certificate on their Admissions Portal in order to clear their Preliminary Offer and receive an offer of (conditional/or unconditional) admission to ALU.
Will I get my financial aid decision together with a Preliminary Offer?
No. Applicants will not receive their financial aid decision until they complete their PO requirement of submitting an equivalence certificate.
Can I access the Admissions Portal?
Yes. PO Applicants will have access to view their Admissions portal. However, they will not be able to complete any of the requirements until they submit their Equivalence certificate
- This also means that international applicants cannot submit documents to start an application for a student permit until they have submitted their equivalence certificate and received a (un)conditional admission offer.
