ALU Rwanda is a non-residential campus. This means that students are responsible for finding their own housing. To ease the transition, particularly for international students and Rwandans who are not from Kigali, we have identified a few housing options for our students. Once admitted, these housing options are available on our Admissions Portal. They include shared hostels with other ALU students, as well as introductions to local housing agents.
The housing fees are communicated to students once they are admitted to ALU.
ALC is a fully residential campus with four residence halls. Residential life programming and identity are essential to the ALC culture and experience. When students are admitted to ALC, a simple questionnaire determines which hall they will be placed in, determining their identity throughout their journey. Residential life and community programming include res-games, monthly assemblies, arts fest, and community gatherings, which help define and drive culture at ALC. All of these are waiting for you to explore at ALC.
The four halls are named after four great African Kingdoms:
Mapungubwe: The Home of Wisdom
Aksum: The Great Builders
Songhai: The Great Horsemen
Kongo: The Home of Divinity
