How to Submit your English Proficiency Test Results

All ALU students are required to submit proof of B2 English proficiency as part of the general admission requirements.

 

How do I submit my English Proficiency results?

  1. Go onto your ALU Admissions Portal and head to the 'Academic Results' page.
  2. Read your Conditional Admission reasons.
  3. Click on the 'Upload English Proficiency' and submit one of the documents stated below.
  4. The Admissions team will review your document and update your admission status accordingly.

 

Important: if you are submitting Duolingo test results, please make sure you submit your results on the Duolingo dashboard as well. Test results that are not verifiable with Duolingo will not be accepted. More information can be found here.

 

Which test results can I submit as English Proficiency proof?

Below is an overview of accepted tests and minimum scores required for English Proficiency proof.

Duolingo (paid version)

Overall score of 100 and above with no single element below 90

IELTS Overall score of 6.0; with no single element below 5.5
TOEFL internet-based test. TOEFL iBT - Overall score of 72 or above with minimum scores of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing
TrackTest English Core Test + Verified exam (paid version) B2 level
ALU English Proficiency Test B2 level - overall score of 60% or higher

SAT test

650 or higher on Reading and Writing Section

ACT test

30 or higher on Reading and Writing Section
Pearson PTE Academic Pearson PTE Academic - Overall score of 54 with no element less than 51
Cambridge Certificate in First (FCE), Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) in English Grade C or higher
Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English (ISE)  Pass the ISE II (B2) or more advanced tests: ISE III(C1), ISE IV(C2)
University of Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English (ECCE) Pass (750) and above
University of Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE) Pass (750) and above.

*All submitted exam results must be no older than two years.
