Yes! One of our objectives at ALU is to make education accessible to future potential leaders across the continent. We offer a need-based financial aid program for eligible applicants, which is intended to make ALU education affordable for students according to their unique demonstrated financial need. Our application process helps determine the eligibility for the two types of financial aid.
We are currently offering two types of financial aid: through Grants and The ALU Scholarship.
- The Grants
This is a need-based Grant awarded to students on the basis of demonstrated financial need, not merit. This grant applies to tuition fees only and is applied as a fee waiver to a student’s invoice. These grants hold for the duration of studies agreed upon by the student and the university. As this is a Grant, you will not be required to pay this back at any point.
There are different types of Grants available at ALU, depending on the financial need demonstrated in your financial aid application.
- The Scholarship
The ALU scholarship is a full ride scholarship awarded to students from low-income backgrounds, refugee backgrounds, or students with physical and/or learning disabilities who demonstrate both financial need and great potential in using the scholarship opportunity as a valuable tool in making a meaningful impact in their community. This scholarship is offered in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
Please note that we receive hundreds of scholarship applications but have very limited scholarship slots for each intake. Because of this, should you not be selected for a scholarship, we may instead offer you one of the available Grants with the hope that you will be able to obtain supplemental funding outside of ALU to pay your tuition and living costs.
