The financial aid application process is broken down into a number of steps depending on your eligibility for financial aid and the kind of aid you are eligible for:
STEP 1: Determine your eligibility
The application process starts with you filling our financial calculator to provide us information about your family’s financial circumstances. We then use a standard method to assess your demonstrated financial need and determine your eligibility to apply for the ALU financial aid offerings.
Immediately after filling in the financial calculator, you will be informed of your eligibility for financial aid.
Note: Please note that once you fill in these details, you will not be able to make any changes to the information.
Grant Eligible
This means that you are eligible to apply for a specific ALU presidential grant. You may now proceed to the next step of the grant application process.
Scholarship Eligible
This means that you are eligible to apply for the ALU scholarships. You may now proceed to the next step of the scholarship application process.
Financial aid Ineligible

STEP 2: Apply for either a Grant or Scholarship
The ALU Presidential grant application
Grant eligible students will get the opportunity to demonstrate their need for financial aid through answering a number of questions and provide an explanation of their financial circumstances. Applicants will also be required to submit supporting documentation for proof of financial circumstances.
Below is a breakdown of the sections to be completed in the grant application;

This section will ask you about you and your household so as to understand your financial circumstances. You would be asked to provide information about the possible sources of income, the total monthly income earned in your household and the kind of assets that your family owns.
b. Education financing history
This section will seek to understand how you were able to pay for your previous schooling (e.g self-funded, sponsored) and how much you or your family paid towards your education, whether high school or college.
