What does police clearance mean? What do I need to attain for police clearance? (ALU Rwanda only)

Police clearance, also known as a certificate of character or police certificate, is an official document issued by the Criminal Record and Crime Scene Management (CR & CSM) stating whether an individual as any recorded criminal convictions.

You must obtain your police clearance to confirm your non-criminal status to enter and reside in Rwanda. The police clearance must reflect and state that you have not committed any crimes for/in the last 6 months. You may request it from your local police station.
