2.1. How do I make a credit or debit card payment?

Once you log In to your portal, under the Tuition invoice, Please follow the following steps:

 - Click on “Next”.

 - Click on “Make Payment” . 

 - Tick on “Debit or credit card”

 - Fill in your card details and amount you want to pay then submit.

2.2 How do I upload proof of payment in my admission portal?

Once you log in to your admission portal, under either the Tuition section, you proceed with the following steps:

 - Click on “Make Payment” 

 - Tick on “EFT or Bank transfer” then click next.

 - Fill in your payment details and upload a legible proof of payment.

 - Click submit.


2.3 Does ALU accept cash payment?

We do not accept cash payment, however, if you are in Rwanda, you can make a cash deposit at a BPR Bank counter to the ALU bank account that is on your invoice.

Once you have the proof of cash deposit from the bank,  you log in to your admission portal, you proceed with the following steps:

 - Click on “Make Payment” 

 - Tick on “EFT or Bank transfer” then click next.

 - Fill in your payment details and upload the proof of payment

 - Click submit.

 

2.4. How long does it take for a card payment to appear on the ALU account?

Unless there are limits with the card or the bank, online card payment occurs in real time and is automatically marked as successfully completed on the admissions site.

ALU accepts 3D secure cards, and you must ensure that your daily limit and transaction limit are sufficient to cover the amount you are paying, and that you can pay in foreign currency using the card. Please contact your bank if you have any card troubles.

 

2.5. How long does it take for bank transfers to appear in ALU's account?

Depending on the region it is being sent from and the correctness of the bank details captured on the transfer paperwork, bank transfers could take between 3 to 10 working days.

Please fill out the ALU Finance Customer Support form if your payment was not acknowledged as successful on your admission portal within 5 working days. Our customer support team shall investigate and get back to you.

 

2.6. What should I do if I receive an error message while making an online payment?

 Please verify with your bank to confirm the following: 

 - Your card is 3D secure.

 - You can use the card to make foreign and online payments.

 - Your daily limit and transaction limit are sufficient to cover the amount you are paying.

 - You have sufficient funds.

 

2.7. I am Rwandan, can I pay in RWF?

Yes, you shall have our RWF bank account on your invoice. Once you have the proof of cash deposit from the bank,  you log in to your admission portal, you proceed with the following steps:

 - Click on “Make Payment” 

 - Tick on “EFT or Bank transfer” then click next.

 - Fill in your payment details and upload the proof of payment

 - Click submit.

 

2.8. How will I know how much I need to pay in RWF if the invoice on the admission portal is in USD?

Please check the daily rate on your payment date on National Bank of Rwanda website for USD to RWF conversion rate.

Example: Total invoice amount is $3000 = $3000 X RWF 1180 = RWF 3,540,000

“If you wish to make payments in Rwandan Francs, please use the ALU Rwanda Franc bank account listed on your invoice. All other payments must be sent to the USD bank account.”
